Introduction to Siena


 

Siena hides a magneto…. no doubt about it. The thousand visitors that go for the first time or again to it are witness to it.

Its two main squares Piazza del Campo and Piazza del Duomo concentrate some of the most beautiful prototype of Gothic architecture around the world: its cathedral (Picture 1), a mesmerizing building, its baptistery and library around the Piazza del Duomo the Palazzo Piccolomini and Tower around the Piazza del Campo. For those who can only spend a few days in town, these are their must visits to take in .

To come face to face with Tuscan delights or international fare, there are restaurants to represent any of these types of cuisine. And if you have a taste for taking souvenirs home or shopping, Siena gives all chances ranging from local products or all the world renowned labels. Banchi di Sopra and Via di Città are the streets where shoppers congregate to browse or purchase. Glamour is what they find.
